About

WallStreetSmackdown is a daily financial web magazine (yes, another one) dedicated to covering the news and personalities on Wall Street.  While our main focus is on the financial industry in New York, our interests and coverage are not exclusive to it.

We have started this site with the belief that breaking or thought-provoking news stories will no longer be confined within the newsrooms of traditional financial media outlets first, but instead appear on a blog or website you have never heard of...such as ours.

Our publication will be part CNBC, part Daily Show, part whatever we feel like writing about, whether it be politics or entertainment. But rest assured we will connect it somehow to the wonderful world of Wall Street, no matter how flimsy it may be.  Hopefully you, our readers, will be interested in what we have to say.

The smackdown part of our name is not meant to convey a confrontational or snarky style of writing but rather was chosen because it is catchier than WallStreetDiscussion dot com.  Which funny enough was taken.  However, we reserve the right to be confrontational as well as snarky when the need arises. We will try to restrain ourselves however, so as not to come off as another annoying opinionated blog....uhm, I mean web magazine. .

We look forward to covering the daily battles as well as the rest of the drama on Wall Street.  I’m sure we will learn something along the way and we hope you will join in and engage us in discussion everyday.

Jason, Editor in Chief.
