If former owners and readers of the Wall Street Journal feared for the editorial integrity of the paper after Rupert Murdoch purchased the paper, their fears would seemed to have been confirmed on the front-page of today's Wall Street Journal.

Less than a month after the WSJ Managing Editor Marcus Brauchli quit his post, the Journal today prominently displayed their scoop of the Uma Thurman stalker trial that has dominated headlines in the New York tabloid press.

One could have mistakenly assumed the influence of the owner of Fox News and the New York Post was quickly making his editorial influence felt with the coverage of a story more suited for their sister publication the NY Post. But that would have been quickly dispelled under closer inspection of the article.

The Journal reporter Emily Steel was just serving jury duty. Alongside, "two laywers, a former editor for the TV show "Wfe Swap" and a rock-show caterer." After deliberations fueled by Entenmann's donuts, Sun Chips, baked Cheetos and red Twizzlers supplied by the reporter they eventually found Jake Jordan guilty of one count of second-degree aggravated harassment.
