This Just In - Hot Girl Reports Financial News

Anybody who watches any of the financial news channels, CNBC, FBN or Bloomberg may have noticed the many female anchors and on-air reporters who are, to put it simply - quite pleasing to the eyes. The term "money-honey" has long been associated with Maria Bartiromo on CNBC. Others have given her a run for her money (yes, go ahead and groan) for the title without success. But there may be a contender to the title, Bianna Golodryga.
I actually found this on the Washington Whispers blog by Paul Bedard over at the U.S. News & World Report. He writes about Bianna Golodryga of ABC News, and quotes an administration official as saying "She's smoking,". As one can see from her photo she does have a....uh.... smokey quality to her. You can check her out here at the ABC News / Facebook debate in January.
He goes on to write about her apparent popularity at the recent White House Correspondents' Association Dinner and the post-parties held by Bloomberg and Vanity Fair. Quoting a financial industry source as saying "I was walking around with her, and all the big shots were coming up and introducing themselves. They were gaga over her."
A little background on Bianna, she got her start at CNBC as a bureau producer from the New York Stock Exchange. Going on to work as a segment producer for "The Wall Street Journal Report" with none other than, Maria Bartiromo. She eventually moved on to ABC News in Feb 2007 as an on-air reporter with ABC News Now. You can read more about her here
It is of course obvious that beautiful people attract viewers and help to maintain their interest. Maintaining interest builds a connection which makes it that much harder to switch away to another channel, which is increasingly important in the TV industry, maybe even more so for financial news channels. But one can definitely see the double standard when it comes to the male anchors and reporters.
I leave you with this clip from the Daily Show with Jon Stewart:
